Finally a new blog post

I've been very busy. Kelsie and I have a new roommate- Myra. Myra is a former co-worker of mine and it feels nice to have another adult in the house. I am finally able to go away on a mini vacation this coming weekend.
I've been working on and completing quite a few knitting projects since I last posted:

My Four Seasons throw
An afghan for Mike V
A stuffed hedghog
Another GAAA square (Carol Adams)
2 blocks for another Four Seasons throw
Suki and Teela continue to be a huge blessing in my life. They bring me so much joy and unconditional love!

Nick's Memorial

I finally got a photo of the memorial that Nick's friends contributed to build. Under the direction of long time family friend, former football coach of Nick and current Vice Principal of Los Gatos High, the memorial was built over spring break. The location is perfect. Right next to the Large gym and wrestling room with a view of the football field.

I still get emotionally overwhelmed at times and it took me a while to go down and get a photo. I still miss him so much. My pain is eased knowing that he is with his earthly and heavenly fathers and in total peace and happiness.

It's getting hot in here, they've turned off all the lights

Glad to see that they haven't blocked my blog. I hate that I can't get into Ravelry from work. I enjoyed surfing around during my lunch hour. The company is trying to save energy, so they are turning off almost all of the lights and raising the thermostat. GREAT! We froze all winter, and now when it is hot, they're going to increase the temp.
Oh well, I finished my first Wonderful Wallaby last week and have started on number two. I did the first with Berroco Comfort and this one I'm doing out of Crystal Palace Merino 5. I like the Comfort, but I've decided that the Merino 5 is awesome. However, the Comfort is more affordable so I'll probably continue to use it the most.

Courageous Kids- Mother's Day scarf finished

On Sunday, I finally finished the scarf that I was knitting for the Mother's Day event for the moms of Courageous Kids (kids with cancer). I made it out of Corntastic and chose a pattern that knit up quickly. I was please with the end result.

Eeyore Knit a real pain

Well, I have 11 more rows to go before shaping the front legs and I still can't figure out if I did the rear legs correct. The pattern instructed me to increase 1 st at the end of the 2nd row and every row at the same edge. The first time, I increased at the end of the 2nd row and the beginning of the 3rd row, and continued until there were 20 sts. However, it didn't look right, so I ripped it out and only increased at the end of every odd row. I'm not confident that I made the right choice and am not looking forward to getting to the end of the upper body only to find out that I messed up at the very beginning of it.
After looking at other finished Eeyore projects on Ravelry, I've decided that I should have stuck with increasing every row and will rip out once again. They say 3rd time is a charm :)
